The SL-1 Lifetime Warranty

1. The Lifetime Guarantee

Shaving Labs provides a lifetime factory warranty on the SL-1 Safety Razor for the duration of its usable life. We warrant that the product will remain free from defects in materials and craftsmanship. If the structural integrity of the razor fails, including but not limited to broken handle threads, base plate warping, or top cap failure, we will replace the entire safety razor free of charge.

Please Note: This lifetime guarantee is strictly limited to one (1) replacement razor per original purchase record. Once a replacement claim has been fulfilled, the warranty agreement for that specific purchase record is considered fully satisfied, and no further replacements will be issued.

2. Transferability & Proof of Ownership

The SL-1 limited lifetime warranty is tied to the individual razor's purchase record, not the person. To facilitate a claim, the current owner must provide the original Order Number associated with the purchase, provided a replacement has not already been issued for that order.

  • If you are the original buyer: Your order number is in your confirmation email.
  • If you acquired the razor second-hand: You must obtain the original order number from the previous owner.
  • No Order Number, No Warranty: Without a valid, verifiable order number, we cannot honor a replacement claim.

3. Discretionary Review (Case-by-Case)

All warranty claims are subject to a manual review by the Shaving Labs team. We reserve the absolute right to determine whether a claim is valid based on the evidence provided. We handle every claim on a case-by-case basis to distinguish between genuine factory defects and external damage.

4. Exclusions (What is NOT covered)

This warranty protects you against manufacturing failures, not the natural results of use or accidents. The following are excluded:

  • Normal Wear & Tear: Cosmetic scratches, minor dents, or natural patina/finish changes that occur through years of shaving.
  • Misuse & Accidental Damage: Damage caused by cross-threading the handle through forced assembly, or using the razor as a tool for non-shaving purposes.
  • Neglect: Structural failure caused by a lack of basic maintenance (e.g., allowing heavy mineral buildup to seize the threads).
  • Intentional Damage: We do not cover razors that have been intentionally altered, modified, or damaged.
  • Prior Replacements: Any razor that has already received a warranty replacement under its original order number.
  • Accessories: Our warranty is exclusive to the SL-1 safety razor and excludes any accessories, packaging, or consumables.

5. Shipping & Handling

While Shaving Labs provides the replacement part or unit at no cost, the customer is responsible for a flat-rate shipping and handling fee. This fee covers the logistics of getting the new hardware to your door and varies based on your current location.

6. Discontinued Models

If the SL-1 is discontinued, we reserve the right to replace your unit with a current model of equal or greater value.

1. The Accident Guarantee

Shaving Labs builds the SL-1 Safety Razor out of solid metal materials, but we know that tile floors, slick hands, and life happen. When you purchase Accident Protection, your SL-1 is protected against accidental damage. If you drop it, step on it, or accidentally damage it during normal use, we will replace the entire razor free of charge.

Please Note: This Accident Protection policy is strictly limited to one (1) replacement razor per covered purchase record. Once a replacement claim has been fulfilled, the protection plan for that specific purchase record is considered fully satisfied, and no further accident claims will be honored.

2. What Is Covered

Unlike our standard Factory Warranty, Accident Protection specifically covers user-inflicted mishaps. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Impact Damage: A cracked top cap, bent safety bar, or misaligned head resulting from a drop onto bathroom tile, porcelain, or hard surfaces.
  • Mechanical Mishaps: Stripped or cross-threaded handle threads caused by forced assembly.
  • Crush Damage: Accidental stepping on, sitting on, or crushing of the razor during travel or daily life.

3. Exclusions (What is NOT covered)

While we protect you against accidents, this policy is not a license for abuse. The following scenarios are strictly excluded from Accident Protection:

  • Prior Replacements: Any razor or purchase record that has already received a replacement under this policy.
  • Loss or Theft: You must be able to present or photograph the damaged razor. We cannot replace a razor that is lost, stolen, or left behind.
  • Cosmetic Wear & Tear: This policy covers structural and functional failure. It does not cover minor scratches, scuffs, or natural patina that do not impact the razor’s performance.
  • Intentional Destruction & Modification: We do not cover razors that have been deliberately altered, modified, or subjected to intentional, non-accidental abuse.
  • Accessories & Consumables: This insurance applies exclusively to the SL-1 Safety Razor itself and does not cover any other product from Shaving Labs.

4. Verification & Claims

To activate a replacement under your Accident Protection:

  • Provide Proof of Insurance: You must provide your original Order Number showing that Accident Protection was purchased alongside (or retroactively added to) the razor, provided a claim has not already been fulfilled.
  • Photo/Video Evidence: You must provide clear photographic or video evidence of the physical damage rendering the razor unusable or unsafe.
  • Return of Damaged Hardware: Shaving Labs reserves the right to request that the damaged razor be shipped back to our facility for inspection and recycling before a replacement is dispatched.

5. Shipping & Handling

Shaving Labs will provide your replacement hardware at no cost. However, the customer is responsible for a flat-rate shipping and handling fee to cover the logistics of getting the new hardware to your door. This fee varies based on your location and will be calculated at the time of the claim.

6. Limit of Liability & Discontinued Models

This Accident Protection policy allows for exactly one (1) replacement claim per purchased plan. Following the fulfillment of this single claim, Shaving Labs' liability under this policy is fully discharged. If the SL-1 model is discontinued at the time of your valid claim, we will replace your unit with a current Shaving Labs razor model of equal or greater value.
